On Saturday, Sept. 23, Prep Baseball Report is hosting its inaugural High School All-American Game at American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. The unique event will feature the nation’s top high school seniors who are set to battle against a roster of the country’s best juniors in Class of 2024 vs. Class of 2025 action, giving pro scouts a unique look at current and future draft classes.

We’ve begun to unveil the event’s participants on our social media channels, and we’ll spotlight those players more closely on our site, too, highlighting past performances and scouting reports from the live looks we’ve gathered on this gifted group throughout the years.

Next we're highlighting shortstop Carter Johnson, the top-ranked recruit in Alabama and a top-5 player in the nation's senior class. Johnson represented his home state in the 2022 PBR Future Games, committing to the Crimson Tide shortly after the event. In the 13 months since then, Johnson's stock has skyrocketed. He put together a stellar summer as he was a top performer at a variety of highly talented events, including the NPI, the PDP, and the East Coast Pro. Next, he'll head to Milwaukee for the inaugural PBR All-American Game.

PBR's VP of Scouting Shooter Hunt called Johnson a breakout star of the summer, later saying: "Johnson possesses one of the sweetest strokes in the class with a hit-tool that has shined for well over a year now. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder was perpetually on the barrel against the top arms in the class, and while some questioned the impact ability early on in the summer, the Alabama recruit did his best to remove doubt in delivering a plethora of extra-base hits. Though it is unfair to assign overly gaudy comparisons, the whispers of fellow Alabama-native and rising MLB superstar, 2019 SS Gunnar Henderson (Orioles), are not far fetched. Johnson’s athletic frame still holds considerable projection, and while he does not hold the same speed that Henderson displayed, there is a chance that he can assert himself as a true shortstop with a strong spring presence. As it stands, Johnson’s present ranking could ultimately be too low…"
