4/22 Columbus North @ Floyd Central
By Cooper Trinkle
Bishop Letson, RHP, Floyd Central HS, 2023
My first look at the long, lanky 6-foot-3, 160 pound Purdue recruit did not disappoint. Letson came out of the pen to throw the last 2 ⅔ innings for Floyd Central, striking out 7 of the 8 batters he faced and not allowing a batter to reach base. He used a smooth, drop-and-drive delivery with very quick arm speed. Showed good extension on the FB, sitting 88-91 mph. The FB had good ride at the top of the zone, consistently getting above barrels. His best off-speed was a tight, sharp 75-77 mph slider that he could really command to his glove-side, and was tunneled well off of his FB. Flashed a 79-80 mph CH with some arm-side run to LHHs. Letson was aggressive early in counts, attacking hitters in the strike zone.
2023 RHP Bishop Letson (@LetsonBishop) was extremely impressive tonight for @floyd_central, striking out 7 of the 8 batters he faced in his relief appearance. Long, lanky 6-foot-3 frame. @PurdueBaseball recruit.

Zach Wager, LHP, Columbus North HS, 2022
The University of Tennessee-Martin signee sat 81-84 on the FB, touching 85 mph. The lanky, 6-foot, 160 pound senior southpaw used a quick tempo delivery, delivering the baseball from an over-the-top arm angle with good arm speed. Commanded all 3-pitches in any count. Plus feel for his 11/5, 68-73 mph breaking ball with good depth. His 75-78 mph CH had some fade to the arm-side, and was the most improved pitch in his arsenal from last summer/fall. Wager’s pitchability allowed him to really keep opposing hitters off balance. High pitch IQ. Good composure with RISP. He finished the night with 7 IP, allowing just 3 H’s, 1 BB, and 0 ER, while striking out 12.
2022 @UTMBase signee Zach Wager (@ZachWager54) dominated tonight in the win for @CNDogsBaseball. The 6-foot lefty pitched a complete game, allowing just 3 H’s, 1 BB, & 0 ER, striking out 12.

Will Baker, OF/LHP, Columbus North HS, 2022
Snead State CC commit. Athletic, 5-foot-11, 165 pounder. Baker impressed as a position-player in this look, hitting in the Columbus North “2-hole” and playing CF. Showed smooth tempo at the dish, with good bat-speed, and the ability to spray the ball to all fields. Can really track the ball in CF. Good runner. Baker finished the night 2 for 3 with 2 2Bs to lead the Bulldog offense.
2022 LHP/OF Will Baker (@Will_baker20) paced the @CNDogsBaseball offense, picking up 2 2Bs in the win. Athletic, 5-foot-11, 165 pounder showed good range in CF as well. @SneadBaseball recruit. pic.twitter.com/TcXIKwhVkx

Dylan Hogan, RHP, Floyd Central HS, 2022
Lincoln Memorial University commit. Solid, 6-foot, 175 pound frame. The senior righty started the game for Floyd Central, pitching 4 ⅓ innings, allowing 5 H’s, 1 BB, and just 1 ER. Showed good pitchability, commanding a 3-pitch mix. Sat 82-86 mph with the FB, showing slight running action. His CH showed good tumbling action at 73-75. Good feel for his big, upper 60s breaking ball.
4/23 Avon Invitational (Ben Davis vs Perry) (Avon vs Martinsville)
By Daylan Nanny
Garrett West, RHP/INF, 2023, Ben Davis, Uncommitted
The starter for the “Giants” – West effectively changed speeds and challenged hitters with a steady mix of FB/BB. Ran the fastball up 83mph & got the “W” for the game. Didn’t get behind much in counts, stayed down in zone with small misses around the plate.
Uncommitted’23 - Garrett West got the start in game 1 for @BDHS_Baseball & flooded the zone with an 80-82mph (T83) FB & was able to control his BB for a strike as well! Attacked hitters & used his defense. pic.twitter.com/Wb8gHYKr0N

Really interesting prospect here in Spaulding. Strong body with present bat speed. Quality at bats throughout the game staying to the big part of the field. Good follow.

Nickolas Gilliland, INF, 2023, Ben Davis, Uncommitted
Gilliland kept his hands back on an RBI single for Ben Davis here and possessed a lot of box presence. Tough out with adjustability to keep hands back. Flat path with athletic movement patterns.
Really liked the swing & actions from Uncommitted’23 - Nickolas Gilliland of @BDHS_Baseball. pic.twitter.com/Na3SYx4yRf

Simple load with controlled movements into heel strike. Good extension on this triple to the pull side gap. Minimal wasted movement with good two hand finish.

— PBR Indiana (@PBRIndiana) April 24, 2022
Hommell is a guy we have highlighted in previous blogs – highlighting his ability to leverage the baseball. The uncommitted'22 does it again here blasting a 2B off the CF wall. Stays in his back hip well and can get extension to the front.
2022 Dylan Hommell of @oriole_baseball is a bat that continues to stand out with his ability to elevate the baseball! Stays behind it well! 2B off CF wall here. pic.twitter.com/5hFOkAwLVZ
— PBR Indiana (@PBRIndiana) April 24, 2022
Cannon Vandever, INF, 2024, Avon, Uncommitted
A very projectable prospect – Vandever has been consistent in his ability to drive the baseball this spring. Looks the part with present twitch in his game. Stays on the baseball well with good direction of the lower half.
Uncommitted’24 - Cannon Vandever (@CannonVandever) is Uber projectable & can rake! 6’2/lean frame with twitch in the hands! pic.twitter.com/X5kL4wprQs
— PBR Indiana (@PBRIndiana) April 24, 2022
Nate Simpson, OF, 2023, Avon, Uncommitted
One of my favorite uncommitted LH bats in the ’23 class – Nate Simpson can really play the game. All around ballplayer type with the ability to run. Consistently a threat to get on base and possesses a strong – simple swing. Good bat to ball skills. Good plate disciple. High Follow.
So much to like in Uncommitted’23 - Nate Simpson’s (@NateSimpson99) game. On base machine with some real feel to hit! Shown to be a + defender in CF & a base stealing threat on the base paths!! pic.twitter.com/oMhZnFlA6m

Miguel Correa Jr, INF, 2024, Avon, Uncommitted
A young bat storming onto the scene is Miguel Correa Jr of Avon High School. Have seen him twice not & impressed with his poise and advanced actions both times. Rifles this ball over the LF wall that got out in a hurry. Played 2B for the "Orioles" and looks to only be getting more comfortable with more at bats.
Uncommitted’24 - Miguel Correa Jr (@MiggyCorrea) joined the #PBRBombSquad yesterday for @oriole_baseball with a laser over the LF wall! This kid can really handle the bat!! pic.twitter.com/Abx5JKFbe4

4/23 South Central - Union Mills vs. University
By Daylan Nanny
Grayson Knight, RHP, 2022, University High School, Indiana Wesleyan Commit
Knight was flat impressive in his CG – (14) K performance for University. Fastball settled in at 88-90 but had 91-92 a lot early on. Attacked hitters & seemed to be in control from pitch one. Still think there is a lot more in the tank velo wise & that is very scary for hitters in years to come.
Bradley Ferrell, RHP, 2024, South Central, University of Kentucky Commit2022 @IWU_Baseball recruit - Grayson Knight (@GraysonKnight5) was absolutely lights out last night for @UniversityBB!! Striking out (14) hitters!! Threw with conviction & poise from inning #1.
— PBR Indiana (@PBRIndiana) April 24, 2022
FB: 88-91mph (T92) ?
BB: 74-76mph (good depth & control) pic.twitter.com/N5XG0efIJ7
One of my favorite arms in the ’24 Class – Ferrell is a guy who has really improved his arsenal in the last half year with a ton of upside. True competitor with a lot of deception in the delivery. Swing & BB from two arm slots. Threw FB to both sides of the plate. As the Kentucky recruit continues to develop and mature the stuff will only get better. Big time arm in the making.
2024 @UKBaseball recruit - Bradley Ferrell (@BradleyFerrell0) continues to only improve every-time we see him! Pitched at 90-92mph the entirety of his outing. Displayed a true swing & miss BB that he would occasionally drop down the slot on! Big time arm in the making!!? pic.twitter.com/fonXYErZ6M

4/23 Evanvsille North vs. Evansville Memorial
By Cooper Trinkle
Cameron Decker, INF, Evansville North HS, 2022
Super 60 standout and UCF signee. Decker is tearing the cover off the baseball in the early spring, hitting (.538) with 4 2Bs, 3 3Bs, and 8 HRs, in just 13 games. The 6-foot-1, 206 pounder showed no signs of slowing down in Saturday’s DH, going 3 for 6 with a 2B, HR, and 4 RBIs. Decker starts in a tall, relaxed stance and creates lots of separation at heel-strike. Plus bat speed. He is a threat to leave the yard anytime he walks to the plate. Decker played SS for the Huskies and showed improved lateral range and comfort playing with one-hand.
After going yard in game 1, @CameronDecker16 added a 2 for 3 performance in game 2. The 6-foot-1, 206 pounder is on an absolute tear to start his senior campaign. ??? pic.twitter.com/DdJFhnjDNO

The LHH hits from a tall, balanced stance, using a compact load and quick toe-tap stride. Quick hands. Tends to over rotate. Plus runner for a 2024, posting a 6.63 60 at our Preseason All State Showcase in early-March.

Aggressive early in the count but also showed the ability to tone it down with 2 strikes and be more contact oriented. Very solid defensive outfielder with good arm strength. Mason Wicks, RHP, Evansville North HS, 2022
Intriguing uncommitted 2022 RHP. Long, athletic 6-foot-5, 190 pounder. Consistent tempo throughout the delivery, tall balance point, and pitches from an over-the-top slot. Body allows him to really get down the mound and on top of hitters, hides the ball well creating some deception. Wicks sat 83-86 mph on his FB, touching 87 mph. Tight, slider at 75-77 mph that he commanded to the glove-side. Good CH with run to the arm-side at 79-81 mph that he used against LHHs. Wicks picked up the win in game 2 for the Huskies, striking out 6 in his 6 innings of work while allowing just 2 H’s, 1 BB, and 0 ER.
