Nice clean, smooth delivery and the FB has some late life up to 85 mph on several pitches, showing 18” of vertical break and spin rates up to the mid 2400’s. The breaking ball shows hard slider action in the upper 70’s with real late break (shows cutter type action). The change up is a nice pitch as well, showing sink into RH hitters while creating deception. Nice FB but he has feel for all 3 pitches and is confident throwing all of them. Really like the upside of this ‘21 arm
A two way guy (RHP/1B) that has really changed his body since we last saw him in November, 2018. Has added some good weight and strength which carried over to his game. At 1B, the athleticism is there and the glove work was solid. Did a nice job moving around the bag. At the plate, he starts from an open stance and is very simple with the front side with a toe tap approach as his timing mechanism. The swing path is flat which produced line drives to the pull side. We think his future is definitely on the mound as the RHP was up to 86 mph, sitting mid 80’s throughout his inning. From a high ¾ slot, the FB shows some sink and the breaking ball showed late depth as hitters seemed to give up on the pitch. Does a nice job using his lower half from repeatable clean mechanics.
Really jumped out on the mound with big time pitchability. A young arm (2021) that has plenty of room to add weight as he matures physically (6’0 155 lbs) Really does a nice job created plane from his over the top arm slot. This slot also allows for depth on the breaking ball which he commanded at 73-74 mph with tight spin. His FB was electric, up to 85 mph with some ASR and the changeup was 77-78 with tumble. Clean mechanics. 2021 RHP that will be interesting to follow.
Nice arm slot from the OF and showed plenty of arm strength (event best 85 mph from the OF) and feel for how to play the position. Fairly quick transfer as well At the plate, he started with a slightly open stance and did a nice job of getting his hands back to launch. Stayed in the middle of the field with his BP and will definitely add more strength and pop as he matures physically. Very nice fundamentals all the way around.
