1/18/20
Tall LHP that shows some pitchability and future potential. From a mid ¾ slot, the fastball showed typical arm side action out of the left hand and also showed some late sink in the mid 70’s. The breaking ball takes on 12/6 shape with late depth at 61-64 mph and the change up works very well off of the fastball and also shows late sink at 66-67 mph. One of the loudest rounds of BP on the day! Fairly wide stance with the lower half and the feet are event. Shows a toe tap approach to get the barrel to the hitting zone on time. He just smashed baseballs to the middle of the field with nice carry and backspin. Was almost exclusively in the middle of the field the entire round. There is tilt in the swing path as well. Natural at 1B and moves around very well. Obviously at 6’5 he gives a tall target. Seemed to just glide to ground balls and was light on his feet around the bag. The bat plays as he was 92 mph off the tee.

Tall, physical LHP that showcased a FB in the mid 70’s, topping at 76 mph. The pitch had some ASR and he was able to locate the pitch to both sides of the plate. The breaking ball showed nice depth and was a two plane pitch at 62- 64 mph. Really attacked hitters and was competitive in the strike zone. Physical presence in the box with juice to match. Wide, slightly open base and not a ton of movement in the set up but really creates some violence in the swing. There is definite tilt in the swing path and the ball really comes off the barrel with a low 90’s exit velo off a tee. Really showed pop to the pull side gap. Defensively he moved well around the bag at 1B and showed well with the glove. Did a nice job on balls in the dirt at 1B.
10/20/19
Tall, physical build that showed some nice vertical movement on the FB that was up to 73 mph with spin rates in the mid 1800’s. The pitch also showed some nice ASR and created nice down action. From a high ¾ arm slot the breaking ball showed nice downward tilt with spin rates in the mid 2100’s to the low 2200’s. The change up is a plus pitch in the mid 60’s which he commanded very well and the pitch showed nice, late fade. At the plate, he showed present strength in his hands did a nice job staying through the zone with the barrel. The feet were even in the stance and he showed nice rhythm in the load of the hands. There is definite tilt in the swing path and he showed gap to gap power with back spin, as well as a 93 mph exit velo off a tee. Showed solid skills around the bag at 1B and did a nice job picking balls in the dirt. The feet work well around the bag as well, showing nice athleticism.
