Cape Cod: After a strong freshman season for the Tigers (.280/.364/.409) the 6-foot-1, 190 pound outfielder posted a .313 batting average with six RBI in 32 at-bats during a brief, yet productive nine game appearance for Bourne. Stanfield also reached base at a .425 clip and stole five bases. During the spring season, his insertion into the top of Auburn’s lineup was one of a handful of things that turned around the Tigers’ season, and his numbers from last season don’t totally reflect how important he was. With quick hands and a flat line-drive stroke he does not possess a ton of power, but he’ll have his fair share of doubles because he always seems to be looking for two coming out of the box. His plus speed plays well on the bases and in the outfield. After playing left field last season it will be interesting to see how he adapts to playing center field full-time in the SEC. Stanfield is athletic, fast and sophomore-eligible for the 2024 draft.
