3/31/15 GAME NOTES: Hitting in the 4 hole, Harrison presents plus bat speed.  Load is smooth and swing path is short.  Freed barreled the baseball twice in 3 at bats.  Foot speed is much improved.  Defensively, he played 3B for the Shamrocks tonight.  He projects as an OF.  Hands were a little hard and footwork was average.   Arm strength is above average.  Looks more comfortable in the OF.

2/21/15:
6-foot, 188 pounder uses a short, high ¾ arm action from the OF up to 83 mph with accuracy.  Average hands with fluid feet.  Ran a 7.05-60 at the event.  The right-handed hitter hits from an athletic stance with a slightly open front foot.  Possesses good bat control with quick speed.  Uses a slightly uphill path, getting to extension.  Shows gap-to-gap power and reached a top exit velocity of 95 mph.

7/29/14:
5 foot 11 inches, 185 pounds, 7.25/60. Solid athlete with a strong lower body. Throws 79 mph from right field with short arm action and high ¾ arm slot. He has average hands with fluid feet and a good exchange. He hits in a balanced stance with a short stride and a level path to the ball.

2/22/14:
5-foot-10, 180 pound sophomore ran a 7.26 60 at the event.  From the OF was 78 mph with accuracy from a long arm action.  Showcased average hands.  Feet are average.  At the plate starts slightly open with a long stride. Partial use of lower half.  Possesses good balance throughout his swing.  Bat speed is above average and consistently barrels up the baseball with some power potential.  Exit velo was 81 mph.

4/12/19: One of Kendall Roger's favorites from the Northwoods League last summer, Freed is having a breakout year for the Bulldogs. He's a mature bodied right fielder who currently leads the team in most offensive categories (.380/.449/.730) with 12 home runs and 49 RBI. Forty-nine is more than double his next closest teammate. He blasted a majestic moonshot into a crosswind down the left field line with two-out and one on in the bottom of the 9th to tie Friday's game and send into extra innings. Although he doesn't look like it, he is an average runner underway, running a 6.80 on scout day in the fall. During I/O, Freed showed an average arm with very good accuracy to the cutoff man. He will likely be a gut feel prospect for an area scout and will benefit by getting cross-checker looks playing with teammate, Ryan Pepiot. (Seifert)

7/13/185-foot-11, 205 pounds. Short and stocky. Powerful bat. Complete hitter. A lot of lift in his swing as he muscles through it. Quick hands, always looking to put the ball in the air. Power to all fields. Put one on out of the park on a line drive to left-center field. Runner-up in home runs in the Northwoods League with ten, while also maintaining a .310 batting average. Really having a breakout summer after two good years at Butler. Aggressive hitter who puts the ball in play early, does not tend to work into deep counts. In the field, he displayed an above average arm while proving to be an adequate CF defensively. Average speed. Exciting player to watch. Went three-for nine with a home run and a double. Solid all-around player with a solid bat capable of hitting for both average and power. (Jake Stone)

8-1-2018: Last summer, Texas slugger Zach Zubia dazzled NWL observers with an insane season from a home run standpoint, ending the NWL campaign with over 20 bombs. Freed might not catch Zubia’s mark from last season, but he’s having an impressive summer with 11 home runs at the All-Star Break. Interestingly, Freed hit just six homers the last two seasons with Butler, but things have come easier for him this summer. Freed has a strong and sturdy frame at 5-foot-11, 205 pounds. He has a thick, strong lower half and he generates power from there. Freed hit a pair of home runs in the Home Run Derby and put on the most impressive batting practice. Everything he hit was hard contact and delivered with a purpose. He also showed an ability to go the other way when he wanted to with the same ferociousness at times. The only knock on Freed is that he didn’t look like a natural outfielder. He displayed an average arm and things didn’t look overly easy for him out there, but perhaps it was just a rough day. In the well game, Freed showed potential as he did earlier in the day, but also struggled with velocity at times. Freed is an aggressive, powerful hitter who has shown better plate discipline this summer. The tools are there to have a breakout 2019 campaign for the Bulldogs. (K Rogers)
