2017 Spring Scout Blog: Standing in at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, the southpaw sat down the final 18 Carmel batters to lock in Fishers first sectional title. Duermit proved to be a big game pitcher by pitching with high emotion and intensity throughout. Finishing with 10 strikeouts, 3 runs, and 1 walk, he battled his way through a highly competitive lineup. Fastball placement was pinpoint in the final 6 innings. Fastball was 88-89 early, settling in at 84-87. Found some late juice as he got back up to 87 in the last two innings. Breaking ball struggled to find the zone but did change speeds with it well. After seeing Duermit twice already this season, he saved his biggest performance for what he feared could have been his final high school outing.
3/28/16 Game Notes: The southpaw pitched two complete innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 3. The Ohio State commit looked good with a fastball sitting 83-85 with some run. Showed good feel for his breaking ball was 71-72; a legitimate out pitch.
FUTURE GAMES 2015: LHP Is a quick armed southpaw who ran it up to 87 mph. He’s more of a drop and drive style delivery and he pounded the zone with lively stuff. He has an impressive curveball at 75-76 that is an out pitch that he shows good feel for.
4/17/15 GAME NOTES: A 6-foot-1, 175 pound southpaw, Duermit sat 83-85, touching 86 in 6 1/3 innings. He has an inward turn in the delivery with a stab on the backside of his arm action. Rhythm is choppy. Arm is quick, pitching from a high 3/4 slot. Fastball shows occasional run and cut action. Appears to still be developing his breaking ball as it was a little inconsistent, but flashed a couple with sharp break and some depth at 74-76. He showed good command throughout, allowing just one walk while striking out seven. He allowed six hits and 2 runs in a 2-1 loss to rival HSE.
