As one of the top 2017 prospects in the country, Williams reclassified as a 2016 prospect in the spring of 2015.
2014 KABC 5A All-State - 1st Team

2/7/14 - Williams is an excellent athlete with present strength. He turned in one of the top 60 times with a 6.58. His arm was solid during the outfield portion, but he has played mostly shortstop so if he transitions to center field in the future, he should improve as he learns the nuances of the outfield. He hit from both sides of the plate with good bat speed and a direct path from the right side. He uses a leg kick and has some happy feet, but he’s strong and impacts the ball with ease. He’s still relatively new to switch-hitting and doesn’t always do it in games, but there is some looseness in his lefty swing.
6/5/14 - Switch-hitting shortstop Nolan Williams (’17 Turner) impressed, once again, running a 6.63 60-yard dash and recording a camp-best 86 infield throwing velocity.
1/4/14 - Williams is a very athletic 6-foot-1, 180-pound switch-hitting infielder.  During the infield workout he showed soft hands, quick footwork and quick exchanges.  He throws with long, clean arm action topping out at 82 mph and finished his work with three strong throws on the money.  From the left side of the plate he starts with an open stance, uses a simple, slightly closed stride with a minimal, smooth hand load.  From the right side he starts with a balanced set-up and strides inline with no load.  From both sides he demonstrated good balance throughout his swing and bat speed.  His exit velocity left-handed was 86 and right-handed 93 – the highest mark at the event - by a lot.  Williams is a national prospect in the 2017 class.
