4/2/15 - Cowley County CC commit and MLB draft follow. Physical, athletic 6-foot-2, 195-pound right-hand hitting catcher. Has made noticeable physical improvement over the last year. Stood out defensively making multiple plays that looked typical of a Division I and future MLB prospect. Backpicked a runner at second base, blocked very well, sub 2.0 in-between innings pop times.
12/27/14 - McCutcheon is a strong, athletic 6-foot-2, 195-pound right-hand hitting catcher that is committed to Cowley County CC. Top throwing catcher at the event with pop times in the 1.85-1.94 range, quick feet, throws had carry, very accurate arm. During batting practice showed a strong presence in the box, very aggressive swing, drove the ball in the middle of the field, ran a 6.94 60-yard dash. McCutcheon set the bar high with his performance at this event last year prior to helping lead 6A Olathe East to the Sunflower League title as their starting catcher during his junior campaign. Over the last year he has found a way to make improvements in all skill areas as well as gains in overall strength and speed.
2/17/14 - McCutcheon is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-hand hitting catcher.  He has a projectable, athletic frame that’s built to add weight to.  At the plate, he has a tall, athletic set-up and strides slightly closed.  He uses a simple hand load and short, level pat path working mostly gap-to-gap – he has excellent balance throughout his swing.  McCutcheon dialed in a 78 mph exit velocity and was timed at 4.33 during the home-to-1B portion of the event.  McCutcheon’s catching pop time was registered in the 1.90-2.00 range (best in camp), a throwing velocity high of 77 mph with the majority of his throws on or near the bag.  He has quick footwork, good rhythm and throws with an easy high ¾ motion.
12/28/13 - McCutcheon has an impressive physical, athletic frame at 6-foot-2, 185-pounds.  He showed a simple swing with good extension and bat speed during batting practice.  Throwing-wise he registered a number of sub 2.0 pop times on the bag.  He also ran well, dialing in a 7.01 60-yard dash time.  McCutcheon is well on his way to solidifying himself as a major college prospect.
