11.10.18 Committed to Erie CC. Arbuthnot is a left-handed bat that can play in the middle of the infield with arm strength an actions with his glove hand. Comfrotable setup in the box, there is easy finish and extension to swing, will surprise with pop and drives balls in the gap. Will add strength and be a nice addition to Erie in his freshman year while being one of the top hitters in the EBLO, and his 2019 class.
10.22.17 - Arbuthnot plays in the middle of the diamond and profiles mostly as a left-handed hitting second baseman who will does a lot of things right on both sides of the ball. Not flashy, but he works through balls well defensively with clean arm that moves well in the back and allows him to have carry and be accurate. At the plate, hits with loose hands as he gets the bat started, involves lower half with a leg kick and will get upright at his finish from time to time. At best when he stays short to ball and has a line drive approach, which he does for the most part. Still more to come and develop out of arbuthnot and a big winter in the gym for the 5-foot-11, 170-pound 2019 will help him take the next step in his game.
7/5/17 Now 5-foot-11, 170-pounds, Arbuthnot has improved in all facets of the game, as well started to add some muscle to frame. The middle infielder showed a short, compact swing from the left side as he looked to stay inside of the ball was spraying line drives during BP. The swing is quiet with minimal moving parts, stays in his legs and works with small load in hands and fluid path to the ball. Defensively, sure handed defender who moves well to both sides, athletic actions with clean transfers and quick arm across the diamond. Much improved, added strength will continue to be Arbuthnot's best friend as the 2019 infielder continues to keep getting better. 60-Yard Dash: 7.72 Exit Velocity: 79 INF Velocity: 79
6/29/16 5-foot-9, 135-pound middle infielder with room to grow. A 2019 grad, Arbuthnot displayed the ability to hit the ball to all fields consistently, tends to lock his arms during his load and drag the bat through the zone, but still makes solid contact. Shows a good feel for his position, keeps his feet moving at all times, hands work, arm isn't there yet but gets rid of the ball in a hurry. 60-Yard Dash: 7.91 Exit Velocity: 73 INF Velocity: 71
