10/24/14 Luensmann got the start in Mid-Atlantic PG Orange’s game against Team Elite Prime. He allowed an unearned run on one hit and cruised through five innings, striking out five. Luensmann has good life on his fastball, which started out at 88-90 and then settled into the 86-88 range, and got 11 of the 17 batters he faced to hit ground balls. Nine were outs while the other two were an infield single and error. He has an up tempo delivery with a high leg kick and pitches from a 3/4 slot. He broke three bats in his outing. He secondary stuff needs work as he tends to wrap his breaking balls. His changeup and slider showed the best potential today and he worked in a curveball as well.

8/24/14 Luensmann flashed an 86-89 fastball with serious sink out of a three-quarter slot that he used to get a number of swings-and-misses and ground balls. The Nebraska recruit incorporates a high leg kick and has some funk in his delivery. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder's slider lacked depth on this day, while his changeup had sink when down, but floated when elevated.
