Rising Stars on the Radar: 2029 LHP Samuel Nemeth (William Penn Charter)
May 23, 2026
Nemeth is a very intriguing left-handed pitching prospect out of the Eastern Pennsylvania region. He is 6-foot-1, 190-pounds and sits in the low to mid 80s on his fastball. After an impressive preseason showing, Nemeth landed as our 2nd LHP in our updated 2029 rankings.
On the mound, he showcased a true three pitch mix which included a fastball, curveball and splitter. His fastball velocity range is 82-84 mph and peaks at 84.6 mph. His curveball is a bigger breaking pitch with an 11 to 5 shape profile. He throws the curveball at 67-68 mph and has over -13 inches of vertical break and 12.9 inches of horizontal break. The splitter is a rare pitch to have in a repertoire this early but Nemeth flashed impressive feel for the splitter. His splitter was thrown 72-74 mph with 1200-1300 rpm of spin rate. Potentially a swing and miss and out pitch as he matures on the mound.
Overall, Nemeth is a three pitch left-handed pitcher that is a freshman and tops at 85 mph. He shows projectability, pitchability, command, and work ethic to be a premiere arm in Pennsylvania as he develops.
