2015 All-Eastern Kansas League - 1st Team
2/7/15 - Duensing at 6-foot-4, 180 pounds. He’s loose and quick, producing a fastball that sat 91-93 and a breaking ball with short, tight action at 75-78. His changeup was 80-82.

4/20/15 - Kansas State commit. Long legged, slender 6-foot-3, 170-pund frame with plenty of room to fill out. Projection guy. Quick arm and easy repeatable mechanics. Works fast. Ran his fastball from 83-86 through the fifth hitting an 87, 88 and 89. Squared up catcher with firm glove side fastball. Command of a 72-74 mph 11/5 breaking ball.
9/21/14 - Bumped up velocity to 81-85 mph range in two inning stint, aggressive delivery, quick arm, arm works, athletic delivery, natural three-quarters slot.  Short 69-72 mph breaking ball.  Works fast, high energy presence on the mound, attacks hitters, high percentage of strikes.
3/29/14 - Behind Class of 2016 right-handed pitcher Cole Duensing, the Huskies continued to impress. The 6-foot-2, 150-pound wiry, medium framed Duensing in his first Varsity start for BVNW used athletic, easy and highly repeatable pitching mechanics to minimize the amount of Raiders on the base paths and the score board.  Facing 20 batters, with almost half getting first pitch strikes, he got the win for Northwest.  Using 63 pitches over five innings. He allowed one run, struck out two, walked one and surrendered five hits. Duensing’s control of his fastball  which ranged from 78-79 mph in the first two innings, was consistently in and around the zone along with a 64 mph slurve-ish breaking ball that at times showed good bite and the potential to be a plus swing and miss pitch as he matures.  He also showed a 72 mph sinking change-up that he consistently kept down in the zone keeping hitters off balance.  Duensing also demonstrated quick, athletic feet on his picks to first base – resulting in one runner picked off on the day.  As we have reported in the past, Duesning is a projectable pitcher with plenty of room to fill out to keep an eye on.
1/4/14 - Duensing is another pitcher at this event who has made a velocity jump since the fall season.  The 6-foot, 150-pound right-hander has an easy, athletic delivery and throws from a ¾ slot producing good, late sink on his 79-81 mph fastball.  He had one of the best out-in-front release points at the event, repeatedly peppering the bottom of the strike zone with all of his pitches.  He also threw a 64-66 breaking ball and 69-71 change-up.  He’s a young sophomore that is just now developing body control and strength, if he stays focused and healthy don’t be surprised if he moves into the elite category in the Class of 2016 within the year.
1/4/14 - The thin-framed Duensing is a 6-foot, 150-pound left-hand hitting infielder.  During infield workouts he showed average hands and footwork.  He threw with quick, clean ¾ arm action.  He threw up to 77 mph with accuracy.  Hitting-wise he starts with a tall set-up with an open and narrow stance.  He takes a long stride into a slightly closed position and employs a minimal hand load.  He has loose hands throughout.  His top exit velocity was 81 mph.
10/19/13 - The 6-foot, 140-pound Duensing is a very interesting prospect on the mound as he shows present signs of a sound pitching delivery and clean arm action yet isn’t anywhere close to filling out physically.  The thin, athletic right-hander showed a quick arm, attacking the strike zone in his one inning on Saturday.  Strength and body control will come, and when it does Duensing could emerge as the top pitching prospect out of the group.  Just a sophomore, his fastball was clocked at 75-78 mph with a 58-62 breaking ball.
10/19/13 - The 6-foot, 140-pound Duensing is a young sophomore with plenty of room to fill out.  The left-hand hitting infielder hits from an open stance and long stride, diving towards the plate.  He showed good rhythm but his swing is somewhat long right now – a sign of lack of present strength more than a long-term mechanical issue.  His exit velocity was timed at 77 mph.   He was timed from home to 1B at 4.68.  In the game he went 1-for-3 with a walk and double.  As an infielder he showed average hands and fluid footwork using a long ¾ throwing motion.  Duensing’s throwing velocity was clocked at 76 mph.  Being a left-hand hitting infielder with an athletic frame that hasn’t come close to filling out, he’s a very interesting prospect to follow.
