Indiana Scout Blog : Uncommitted Notes from 4/24 - 4/27

Will Jaisle, RHP, 2025, Batesville HS
One of the top uncommitted arms in Indiana’s 2025 class, Jaisle has made impressive strides in his overall athleticism over the past 12 months. The 6-foot-1, 205 pound righty has a clean arm with tons of quickness, working from a H ¾ slot. Jaisle sat 85-88 T 89 mph on his fastball with late cut, but his ability to spin the breaking ball is the separator. The slider is a plus pitch with sharp, late bite at 75-77 mph (2,895 rpm avg | 2,936 rpm max) producing tons of swing-and-miss in this look. Jaisle flashed a curveball at 72-74 mph, showing similar action to the slider but a bit bigger shape. Will worked 4 IP in this start, striking out 8 batters and allowing just 4 H, 2 R, and 1 BB.

Aiden Smith, RHP, 2026, Shelbyville HS
Smith made a big splash at the Preseason All-State, running his fastball up to 88 mph and cementing himself amongst the top arms that we’ve seen in Indiana’s 2026 class. This look solidified what we saw in March as Aiden worked 7 IP allowing just 1 H and 1 ER, earning the complete game win. A very good athlete with a wiry, 6-foot-2, 160 pound frame, Smith shows impressive arm speed and athleticism on the bump with the frame to continue to add velocity. Aiden sat 83-86 T 87 mph on his fastball in this look, but I was most impressed with his ability to spin two distinct breaking balls that have the chance to develop into plus pitches. The slider was sharp and tight at 73-74 mph with more horizontal movement while his curveball worked at 68-70 mph with more vertical depth. Smith’s competitive nature was evident in this look, executing his pitches in big spots for Shelbyville while showing poise. Sky-high ceiling for this 2026 arm.
