Today Team Mid-Atlantic participated in a Pro-Style Showcase at Grand Park outside of Indianapolis in front of well over 150 college coaches and pro scouts from all around the country. Team Mid-Atlantic is made up of uncommitted 2019s and 2020s from North Carolina, Virginia, DC, Maryland, and Delaware. Here are some notes on our position players from the workout:
-Archbishop Spalding (MD) 2019 SS Justin Caesar ran a 6.97 60. Flashy actions at short, was 87 across the diamond. His infield velocity was Top 10 in the entire event. Loose swing from a tall base at the plate.
-Appoquinimink (DE) 2019 OF Joseph Davis showed a strong arm hitting 90 from the outfield. Outfield velocity was in the Top 12 in the entire event. Quick whippy swing from a lag position, showed barrel awareness, exit velocity was 88.
-Patriot (VA) 2020 SS Riley Eikhoff ran a 7.15 60. Smooth, sound fielder, short quick arm. Level swing, flat through the zone, exit velocity was 85. Started working gap to gap at the end of BP and produced solid line drives.
-St. John’s College (DC) 2019 SS Ian Remalia ran 6.98 60. One of the better BP rounds of the team, aggressive demeanor, hitterish in the box. Showed good approach using middle of the field, exit velocity was 87.
-Northern (MD) 2019 OF Marcus Lee Sang ran a 7.16 60. Strength in the box with an exit velocity of 91. Athletic arm was 85 with potential.
-Cape Henlopen (DE) 2020 SS Jake Gelof ran a 7.13 60. Showed a strong arm in the infield, 85 across the diamond with looseness and athleticism.
-Colonial Forge 2019 C Jake Wortman has a legitimate chance to switch hit at the next level. Short swing with barrel awareness from both sides and gap quickness. Pop time as low as 2.15.
-Walsingham Academy 2019 OF/SS Tredell Blow has premium quickness in a strong athletic build. Ran a 6.90, loose arm was 89 in the outfield. Arm was Top 20 in the event from the outfield. Very high ceiling.
-Leesville Road (NC) 2019 3B Ronald Evans has a strong frame, 7.10 60. Strength in his swing, 99 exit velocity. His exit velocity was fourth overall in the event.
-DeMatha (MD) 2019 C Clark Burroughs ran a 7.24 60. Best pop time was 2.00 with a 75 MPH position velocity. His best pop time was tied for fifth in the entire event. Exit velocity was 90 with strong hands. Had a well-rounded day.
-Home School (NC) 2019 Caleb Fluno showed some strength at the plate with an exit velocity of 87. Showed some barrel awareness and used all fields with a flat swing path.
-Archbishop Curley 2019 3B Tyler Locklear showed strength at the plate, exit velocity was 97. Exit velocity was tied for tenth in the entire event. Power potential is evident, drove ball to both gaps. Ran a 7.21 60.
