2017 OHSAA State Tournament MVP

Dillon DinglerThe 2017 State tournament was all about outstanding play behind the dish, solid two-way performances, stellar pitching performances by the state champions and clutch hitting 1-9 by the four teams that eventually held up the championship trophy. That being said, in 2017 the MVP came down to five choices, Dillon Dingler (Catcher, Ohio State commit), Andrew Russell (SS/RHP, 2019 standout), Drake Batcho (LHP, top uncommitted 2018), Kyle Nicolas (RHP, Ball State commit) and Jared Burick (CF/RHP, 2018).

Dillon DinglerThe MVP goes to ... Dillon Dingler.

This is the first time in the six years of the All-Tournament team that the MVP goes to someone who didn't throw an inning on the mound, but Dingler showed he could impact the game in many ways despite not pitching.

The future Ohio State Buckeye went an impressive 6-7 at the plate, with a double, 1 run scored, 3 RBIs 1 walk, 2 stolen bases and 2 assists. This is the second state title for Dingler in just a few months, with Dingler also a member of Jackson's State Basketball Title team in the winter.
