Under Armour All-America Game: Workout Highlights
July 28, 2017

EVANSTON, IL—The Under Armour All-America Game positional workout featured just what you’d expect from a collection of top-level national prospects at a showcase: Majestic BP home runs and some big arms in the field, all the while performing with the nonchalance of a big leaguer making $16 million a year.
Some very well may, in time.
Nevertheless, here are some takeaways from Friday’s workout at Rocky Miller Park at Northwestern University:
+ C Will Banfield (Brookfield HS, GA) is well on his way of cementing his status as the premier catching prospect in the 2018 draft class. The muscular 6-foot, 200-pound Vanderbilt recruit stood out both with his arm strength and during BP. Banfield, who also shined at the Tournament of Stars in late June, fired consistent pop times of 1.80-1.90 with double-plus carry to second base, and highly athletic feet. Offensively, he has an aggressive approach that generates advanced bat speed and lift, which resulted in several home runs.
