5-foot-10, 167-pound, average athletic frame. The shoulders are rounded, shows to have wiry strength throughout. The top tool is his ability to catch and throw from behind the plate. The setup is flexible, works low to the ground, feet are even and looks to be relaxed and comfortable. The hands are strong on the catch, keeps the pitch in the strike zone, does very good job of receiving the baseball. The feet are extremely quick during the transfer, right foot replaces left foot. The arm is loose and quick, works out of a natural ¾ slot, clocked at 74 mph. Recorded pop times of 1.97-2.10, throws were on the bag with a downhill flight to them. At the plate, has an even to wide setup, hands are set at shoulder height, bat having tilt to it in the loaded position. For timing uses a small leg kick, places foot back down at starting point. The swing level through the zone, has a small cast of the hands, could keep them inside the baseball longer. Finishes the swing off at shoulder height with two hands. The approach is more line drive to the pull side, the tee exit velocity was clocked at 69 mph and ran a 7.69 60 yard-dash. The stride foot could get down sooner, may help with keeping weight back and being on time better at point of contact. Projects for me as a catch and throw guy, needs to build bat speed, good follow.
