Michael Salina
Uncommitted '22 RHP Michael Salina (Webster Schroeder) is one of the most electric arms in his class. The 6-foot-1, 170lb senior is lean and wiry with not shortage of quick twitch. We last had eyes on Salina last August at the NE Senior Games in Dubois, PA. Salina was every bit of dominant, as he was overpowering hitters with his FB that ranged from 86-90 T91MPH. The FB has good ride to it as he delivers it from an over the top slot with good downhill arm speed. Salina has a SL/CH combo where he slightly lowers his slot to deliver both pitches, inducing more side to side movement on each pitch. Salina would benefit from polishing up both off speed pitches just a bit more, giving hitters that much more to worry about. The stuff speaks for itself, but the intangibles are what keeps eyes on Salina. His hard headed, bulldog-ish mentality on the mound makes him special. Salina competes so intensely that his stuff could be well below average, but his drive alone would separate him from the pack. Salina will be a huge get for whatever program he settles on in the near future.
