Athletic 6-foot-3, 165-pound right-hander with a pitcher’s frame, height allows him to get depth on majority of pitches, fastball at 78-79 MPH shows consistency from January when he threw slightly better, downward plane is difficult to barrel up, forces weak contact, tough for hitters to match and square up; has 12 to 6 shape on curveball at 71-72 MPH, changes shape to 2 to 7. On the mound the right-hander uses a slower tempo to his delivery that requires some effort. Arm action is long with looseness to it. Works through a near over the top slot. Ball comes out of his hand well, with his fastball sitting 80-81 mph. More velocity to come as he matures. Breaking ball was anywhere from 68-73 mph on a 12/6 plane. The harder he threw it the sharper it was. Also showed feel for a changeup that came in at 71-73 mph.
Has a projectable frame with room to add strength at 6-foot-3, 150-pounds. His over the top arm slot has his fastball working downhill at 79-81 mph. Arm speed is above average. He was inconsistent with locating his off speed but both his changeup and breaking ball were impressive when in the zone. His 10/4 breaking ball is sharp and has very good depth. Changeup has some fade to it as he was able to maintain fastball arm speed. When he becomes consistent with his secondary stuff he will have a solid three pitch mix.
