Heffernan is one of the better prospects in the ‘26 class that is a product out of the Nationals’ system. Stands in at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds and operates from the right-side with the stick. Displayed one of the better performances during his two rounds that generated a peak exit velocity of 98.3 mph, an average exit velocity of 88.4 mph, a peak distance of 327 feet, and a hard hit % of 67. Finished the day off on the turf with some feel for the glove that clocked in at 85 mph from the infield. It is a name to know in the ‘26 class that will look to stir some buzz in the ‘25 summer campaign.

Every year we bring a team to the New York State Games, we have one player to goes yard. This year, Chad Heffernan was that guy. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound corner infielder caught a pitch on the outer-half and drove a flyball that carried over the RF fence as the wind was blowing out. Intriguing look in the box from the right-side with the size and frame. Still has development to come but plenty to work and opened some eyes over the two days in Cortland.
