Physical: 6’0 200lb C/RHP ran a 7.38 laser timed 60-yard dash. Strong frame has natural strength in his body with room to add quickness and speed.
Offensively: Starts with a wide base, and a slightly open front foot. His hands have a small load before working the barrel into the hitting zone. Barrel works flat through the zone and has the ability to stay inside the ball.
Defensively: Receives from a 1KD, new school, stance. Moves into a traditional squatted stance when he goes to make throws. He stays tall in his squat and has a clean exchange between glove and hand before making accurate throws to bases.
Pitching: Uses a slow and controlled windup. When he lifts his front leg, he has a slight rock backwards, seeming to gather more energy in his body. Arm works smooth out of a ¾ arm slot.
Physical: 6-foot-0, 200 pounds; strong, athletic build. 7.43 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Upright, slightly open stance; small stride. average effort with drops his hands and swings up on the ball; 20 degree bat angle into the zone via Blast Motion. Peifer is able to produce 11.5 G’s of force with an on-plane efficiency of 76%. Fly ball approach, hard contact; average Trackman exit velocity of 86 MPH; peak exit velo was 92 MPH.
Defensively: Balanced, squared up; gets out of the crouch quickly, quick feet. soft hands, seamless transfer; quick arm with a 3/4 arm slot. 1.95-2.02 pop times. C - 75 MPH.
Pitching: Sets up just off-center on the first base side, small side step, up-tempo delivery. Moderate take back with a low 3/4 to sidearm arm slot. FB: T 85MPH, 80-85 MPH. Shows arm side run. CB: 72-75 MPH. short-breaking 12-6 actions. CH: 75-77 MPH. Throws with the same arm speed as the fastball, good fading action late.
6-foot, 200-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and begins with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased a compact swing with balance throughout and a middle of the field approach. Registered a bat exit velocity of 89 mph and ran a 7.53 60-yard dash. Two-way prospect displayed pop times of 2.07-2.14 on throws of 76 mph from the crouch. The righty also sat 83-85 from a 3/4 arm slot on the mound with heavy arm-side run on his fastball. A slider at 71-74 showed tight, late break and changeup at 74-76 was thrown with good sell and had some sinking action.
5-foot-11, 195-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Displayed an above average feel for the barrel and developing gap power with a bat exit velocity of 85 mph. Ran a 7.62 60-yard dash and showcased a top pop time of 2.15 on throws of 72 mph from the crouch defensively. The righty sat 79-83 from a sidearm delivery with sink and arm-side run to his fastball. Repeats his delivery well and showed balance throughout. Also showed a curveball with frisbee rotation at 66-70 and a changeup with sink at 73-74. Solid looking young prospect with definite two-way abilities. Peifer will be a player to watch in this class.
5-foot-11, 180-pound right-handed hitter starts from a shoulder wide, slightly open stance and utilizes a controlled leg-hang stride to initiate his swing. Displayed solid fee for the barrel and some ability to create backspin with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Showcased sound receiving techniques and 70 mph arm strength with pop times of 2.21-2.28 defensively and ran a 7.71 60-yard dash. The right-hander sat 75-78 with run and sink to his fastball from a sidearm delivery. Curveball had slider action at 63-64, while changeup displayed some sink at 68-70. All-around skill set and solid, athletic frame makes Peifer a prospect to follow in this class.
