1/25/25
A lean long and trim looking athletic build that showed one of the better swing planes of the event. With separation and leverage to his stroke, the bat speed to the naked eye looked better than his max of 70, with whip into an accelerated through contact type. The plane maxed at 91% efficiency and avg’ed 84, the plane suggests future elevated balls moving forward with power as he continues to gain weight and added strength with natural maturity. The gym should be a focus as he can manufacture the body to be an asset to drive the baseball and be an offensive player. The catch and exchange behind the plate are quick and showed an active lower ½, and a quick arm to get rid of the baseball. The pop times of 1.97-2.08 will improve even more, with better accuracy and added carry through the bag. Had a few one hop throws and a couple right on the money that were the sub 2 times. Is athletic in being able to clock a 7.06/60 and with added lower ½ strength and more meat to his lower ½, this is a catcher that should clock sub 7.0 times in the future. Really intriguing 2027 that with 3 years remaining in school, it will be interesting to see where this is all headed.
