The projectable framed receiver plays for former Utah Valley pitching coach and current Herriman head coach Dave Carter and swung the bat well with the best and most repeatable stroke of the event. A conventional semi squat to an even prop square stance and rocks back into a slight front inward knee turn to distribute his weight from back to front. A soft landing out front, allows for the core to fire and his hands to stay inside the baseball with a fluid crisp compact swing with a full whippy finish out and front and into his follow through. A max on-line plane of 96 and avg’ed 92 with no swing plane under 90%! The swing plays and now just need to see him play live, to see it translate into game conditions and what the zone and pitch recognition look like…the defensive setup allows for quick exchanges and shows arm strength for his age, although many throws sailed to the 2B side of the bag, which cost him tenths of seconds off his potential avg pop times. The body and frame along with the intriguing bat has piqued my interest and I look forward to seeing this young man more extensively!
