This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.

Joseph Flores Jr. is a 5-foot-10 INF from Arlington High School. Flores Jr., who also has shown promise on the mound, is ranked as the sixth best shortstop in all of California, and ranked as the seventeenth best player overall.

Flores Jr. is a star both offensively and defensively, recording a 98.5 MPH exit velocity off the bat, and a 90 MPH velocity with the arm. Additionally, Flores Jr. works quickly with both the bat and glove, registering a bat speed of 78.2 MPH and a hand speed of 23.7 MPH.

With success both at the plate and on the mound, Flores Jr. was selected as the CIFSS Ivy League-All League MVP.

One of his best performances came against Poly on March 27th. In the game, Flores Jr. went 3-4 with two home runs, one of them being a grand slam.

LakePoint will be a familiar place for Flores Jr. Two summers ago, Flores Jr. represented California at the 2023 Junior Future Games.

At the Future Games Tryout in Los Angeles, Flores had the fastest infield velocity and a 377-foot max batted distance. Additionally, Flores Jr. shined on the mound, throwing an 87.6 MPH fastball, the fifth hardest of any pitcher at the tryout.

With a strong feel for pitching, hitting, and fielding– Flores Jr. is quite the talent. With Future Games experience under his belt, Flores Jr. will hope to lead Team SoCal to success later this month.

“With intriguing tools across the board from his RH hitting offensive profile to his ability to play the left side of the INF dirt long term and an impressive ceiling for him on the mound Flores Jr. is one of the top uncommitted players in the state of California showing potential two-way profile with his ability on each side of the game. Flores Jr. is a must follow this summer for the 2027 class.”- Steven Hardesty, Associate Director SoCal
