At SS, Cairns had one of the strongest days amongst the infielders. Leading the way are his quick feet and smooth hands which get him in the right place and allow him to make an easy transfer and get the ball out. In the box, his advanced feel for the barrel leads to a line drive approach working to the big part of the field. Worked up to an exit velocity of 90 mph. There’s a lot to like in his projectable 6-foot-2, 165-pound frame and we’re excited to have him with us at Best of the West.
Cairns caught the attention of the building during his round of BP as he elevated baseballs from the left-side throughout the entirety. Thin frame with tons of room to fill out at 6-foot-2, 165-pounds and he uses the lower-half well to generate torque and leverage.
Found the barrel at a clip of 71% and posted the top exit velocity at the event (94.8mph) with an impressive avg. distance of 297ft. (346ft. max). Quality showing from the unsigned senior with power potential as he matures and adds strength.
