A quality left hander with some size to him out of the Expos program, uncommitted 2025 Josh Macauley is one of the more underrated players around. Checking in at 6-foot-6, 215-pounds, the left hander is a good mover for his size and while the velocity isn't quite loud yet, it's written all over him. His fastball lived 82-83 mph (top 84.4), but he showed good feel for a curveball & slider mix. If he plays his cards right, Macauley is XL large with a chance to blossom into a really good arm in post-secondary.
9/29/24
Macauley had one of the better bullpens on the day. The 6-foot-6, 190-pound LHP filled the zone with his fastball/curveball mix. He creates extension down the mound while maintaining a high release point. When working down in the zone, that high release point creates a steep vertical approach angle making it difficult on hitters to elevate and get the ball in the air. He works east to west with his repertoire, with over 17 inches of horizontal break on his curveball. The fastball sat 80-81 mph and topped out at 83 mph. Macaulay is one of the more intriguing uncommitted seniors in the province.
