1B Walton Cherry (2021) is another solid hitter in the middle of the order for Trinity Presbyterian who showed the ability to hit for some power in Monday's contest over 4A No. 1 Gordo. Slotted in the 3-hole and standing a sturdy 6-2, 200-pounds, Cherry laced a fastball over the heart of the plate in his 1st at-bat of the game into the pull side gap for a double. Uses a fairly sizable leg kick before getting back down on time and strong hips. Creates solid extension out front and generates a lot of torque to hit for extra bases. Came into the game hitting .387 with 8 doubles, a home run and 27 RBI’s on the season.
