3/7/18 - 6’3/180, R/R, Junior. Showed why he is considered a Top 100 college prospect and a potential top five-round pick in this year’s draft; smooth actions, super quick hands, plus arm, polished defensive abilities and pedigree. Also showed why he isn’t considered a top two-round draft pick to this point due to his lack of power and questions about his hit tool. Physically, Graffanino already looks like a young big leaguer and has a frame that can carry more weight and strength which he will need to hit with wood at the next level. He went 3-for-13 on the weekend. He sets up with a tall stance in the middle of the box with even feet and high hands. Showed fair bat speed and the ability to extend an at-bat from time to time. Hardest contact was on a hanging slider for a double down the right field line. Ran a 4.19 down the line on a 5-3 and a 4.22 on a 4-3. Plays hard. Regardless of his bat, his run and throw tools and elite defensive abilities will find him drafted early on Day 2. How early in the day depends upon the progress his bat makes this spring.
