6’1 215-poind frame. Starts with an open stance, striding to get square. Hands start just above shoulder, keeping bat flat before he starts. Slow load with rhythm. Bat speed was at 89 MPH. Landed with bent front knee for adjustability. Good job getting in line with target when throwing from 1B. Ability to turn both ways hen turning double plays, depending which side the ball is fielded on. 73 Across the infield.
1/28/18 - Thick 6-foot-1, 205-pound frame with present strength. Hits from balanced, slightly open setup with longer stride, creating a solid hitting base. Creates good separation. Swing has some length in back, but Ragan does a good job not getting around the baseball. Strong swing with two-handed finish. 81 mph exit velocity not representative of the contact he made during his round of BP. Lists 1B as primary position, but chose to work out at 3B. Feet/arm profile better to 1B as there’s some rigidity to his fielding mechanics. Turned in 72 mph infield velo with longer arm action. Posted 7.51 60-yard dash.
