Layne Henry, a 2026 middle infielder and right-handed pitcher from Notre Dame Prep, was one of the more eye-opening prospects at the Mesa Preseason ID. He showcased impressive defensive ability up the middle with smooth actions and an 82 mph arm across the infield. Henry’s arm strength stood out even more from the outfield, where he reached 92 mph. At the plate, he displayed a clean right-handed swing, producing consistent barrels with low, hard contact. On the mound, Henry ran his fastball up to 89.5 mph, further solidifying himself as a high-follow prospect heading into the spring season at NDP.
