A standout at the shortstop position was 2026 grad out of Saint Mary’s high school Luis Mejia. Mejia is a left handed hitting middle infielder with high level actions in the field and in the box. Mejia is a true shortstop with length and athleticism, he has quality range side to side and an accurate 78 mph arm across the infield. During the BP portion of the day Mejia sprayed the ball with true flight to all parts of the field, which translated later in the day during game play where he shot a line drive the the opposite field for a stand up double. Mejia is a high follow for the Arizona staff as he goes into his freshman campaign.
