6-foot-3 200-pounds, broad shoulders, sturdy build, above average strength. Slow deceptive delivery, landing across his body. Throws from a low ¾ arm slot with short arm action. Hips open at front foot strike. Shows some arm speed with little extension. Worked his FB 83-86mph with average cutting action at 2096rpm. Mixed in a slurvy CV at 69-72mph that showed above average movement with a spin rate of 2241rpm. Also mixed in a developing CH in warmups that had more of a cutter profile. Development should be followed.
1/27/19 – 6’ 3 165-pound frame with plenty of projection remaining. High ¾ arm slot with fast arm. Presets load in rear leg, allowing him to be quick to the plate when needed. Stays loaded in rear hip well, helping him down the zone without losing lower half. Balanced through delivery and finish. Ball has arm side life at times down in the zone. Fastball at 78-82 MPH but will make jump soon. Curveball was at 67-69 MPH, with 12-6 action. Showed ability to spin ball well out of same slot as fastball.
