OF/RHP Stephen Veres (Millennium, 2023)
6-foot-2 175 pounds. Strength throughout build. (Running) 7.45 runner in the 60 yard. (Offense) RH. Max EV 92. Max Dist 331. Stands tall in set up. Hands held above the ear. Sinks into legs during load, stride is direct to pitcher. Hands are loaded downward. Leads with the knob and creates a small amount of natural loft in bat path. Middle of the field/pull side approach. Fly balls to the middle due to losing the top hand a bit. Has some bat speed, gap-to-gap XBH potential with tweaks to approach. (Defense) OF velo 79. Controlled outfield actions, hard first step in towards the ball, gathers while fielding. Clean glove work and consistent to transfer at average speed. Throws were on the bag through the cut, easy to handle. Arm action is clean, room for added arm strength.
Pitching RH.
Delivery: Controlled motion out of the windup. Not much of a front side. More in the tank with tweeks to the mechanics. Throws from a HTQ slot. Lacked command on this day.
FB: 74 mph (1874). 4 seam spin.
SL: 64 mph (1834). Short breaking SL. Stayed to the arm side.
CB: 63 mph (1813). Bigger break than SL. Commanded this best of all off speed offerings.
CH: 69 mph (1436). Stays straight.
6-foot-1 145-pounds, long limbs, thin lanky build, plenty of room to add size. Two-way player. Hits from relaxed upright base, using leg kick trigger. Starts with the bat resting on his shoulder, lifting slightly back in load. Flat barrel entry into the zone. Turns barrel slightly early creating a pull approach. Line drive & ground ball contact at 73mph exit velocity. On the mound, threw from a higher arm slot with slower arm speed. FB sat 69-72mph with occasional cut, throwing strikes up in the zone. Developing a feel for his offspeed. Mixed in a 10/4 spinner at 63-65mph and a gradual CH at 62-65mph.
