SS/2B Ty Henze (Higley, 2025)
5-foot-6 161 pounds. (Running) 7.93 runner in the 60 yard. (Offense) RH. Max EV 83. Max Dist 286. Stance is just outside of shoulder width and slightly open. Weight is fairly balanced in setup, slightly pushed to the back side. Hands held at ear height with some rhythm to the hands and lower half. Loads weight onto back side and uses direct up and down stride that brings him to square position. Swing is short and compact with a slight uphill path. Contact stayed to the middle of the field, majority fly ball contact. Overall hits from a good and strong position, does a good job staying stacked. Quick hands, flattening bat path could play better to profile. (Defense) C. RH. C velo 71. 2.05-2.37 pop times. Quick arm from a ¾ slot. Ball has two seam flight, misses were up the line. Footwork on throws swings out and around, could be more direct to 2B. Throws were inconsistent, slightly rushed. IF velo 73. Very advanced footwork and hop reading ability for age. Picks the right hops, stays in motion to target, quick and consistent with transfer and release. Hands have some give into the body while fielding, foot work and hop reading makes the hands play up a tick. Moves well laterally. Room for added athleticism and arm strength, but IQ will allow him to play on left side until those traits come. Throws from a ¾ slot with a quick arm, should see arm strength increase over time.
