A strong contender to be a player with a breakout season. After putting a strong showing at OBJ Scout Day in April, Raine continued to show well into the first month of play. The looseness and easiness we saw indoors continued to play in game. Mature approach at the plate and will make pitchers work. There is a feel to hit there and the ability to find ways to get on base, as our staff saw at the Ontario Youth Team 40-Man Camp. There is a lot to like in Raine’s game and it will not be a surprise to continue seeing him perform as the season goes on.
One of the more physical younger players on the day was ‘26 OF Raine Kreklewetz standing 6-foot, 175-pounds. Strength in the box from the left-side played throughout his round when catching the ball out front, he has the ability to elevate to the pull-side. From the OF, he posted a 83 mph OF velo which was 5th best during the scout day. We last saw Krekewetz at the Fall Open ID, and there has been improvements this off-season. A good follow in the 2026 class in Ontario.
2026 OF/3B Raine Kreklewetz (Ontario Blue Jays) was another major standout on Tuesday from the underclassmen. Physical, imposing frame catches your attention immediately at 6-foot-0, 175-pounds and moves well with some looseness for his size. Flashed a good arm both in the outfield (81mph) and at third base (80mph) and looked the part at both positions. Looks the part in the box with his size from the left side, working up to an 86mph exit velocity with some projectable power. Another 2026 who should be on the scene for several years to come.
