Helmer is an uncommitted 2025 graduate out of the Langley Blaze program who showcased well behind the dish and at the plate. Standing a stocky 6-foot, 185-pounds, he's simple operation in the box with minimal movement in his swing. It stays flat through the zone, giving him a good chance of contact every time. Helmer showed that he could elevate the ball to his pull-side with regularity, reaching a peak exit velocity of 80 mph and carry distance of 274 feet. Behind the plate his pop time lived in the 2.13 - 2.50 range with an arm velocity of 68 mph.
Vaughn Helmer: OF/3B, (2024) Langley Christian School, BC. 5-foot-11, 185-pound athletic proportional build. Solid projectable during batting practice, Helmer had a max exit velocity of 85 mph. (64.3 mph bat speed average). (19.0 mph hand speed average). Starts in an athletic stance with an active load, then uses a controlled long stride. Bat speed is quick, exhibits a loose upward swing plane and good extension on his high finish. Found some barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap line drive approach. Solid from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 72 mph; had soft hands, a clean natural exchange, and athletic smooth footwork. Laterally, movements were average and fielded the ball out front to the side. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot and a short loose arm action. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.83.
