Willard had a good day overall for the young 2024 grad. Showed clean actions at 3rd base, solid footwork, and smooth movement through the baseball to release. Showed good range to his glove side and was accurate with his throws. Willard loads knee to knee in the batters box, strides out long, and lets his hands go from a stable position. Bat path was short to the ball and swung around the ball instead of through, but the base of a good swing in the forthcoming years is there—a 2024 to track throughout his progression. On the mound, Willard has a great base to build on in the next few years. The tall and lean right-hander showed clean mechanics and a quick, short arm action. Throws downhill from a tall delivery, high leg lift and stays over the rubber well. Releases from a high ¾ and gets an excellent vertical break on his curveball. Willard is another young arm who, with time, will put on size in his frame and velocity to his pitches, but pitchability wise he is ahead of the curve for 2024 arms.
