Batting right behind UCSB commit Ryan Severns, Mejia continued to prove why he’s one of the most dangerous bats in Etiwanda’s lineup, delivering a massive blow early in the game with a second-inning grand slam to extend the lead to 5–0. It marked back-to-back games with a home run for the SDSU commit in CIF-SS playoff play, and he once again showed off his advanced ability to handle off-speed pitches and punish mistakes left in the zone. Mejia has a very polished swing for his age, with a compact load, medium leg kick, and excellent lower-half torque that allows him to generate real power. His quick hands and strong base make him especially dangerous on pitches up in the zone or breaking balls that don't get down. Offensively, he’s clearly the power threat in the top half of the order and complements Severns well, forming a reliable and impactful one-two punch that pitchers have to work carefully around. Mejia shows solid range and a reliable glove, but his bat is what currently makes him stand out. He has the type of offensive presence that can change a game in one swing, and as he continues to mature, there's real potential for him to develop into one of the premier infield bats in the region. As for now, Mejia looks to stay hot for the playoffs as Etiwanda will face Servite in the CIF-SS D-II quarterfinals.
