Cooper worked at 87-88 with his fastball, he showed the ability to command the strike zone with both his fastball and his curveball, the breaking pitch showed depth and both pitches could be thrown for strikes in any count. Breaking ball was 72-74 consistently. At 6'5", 215 he has an athletic frame and an ideal pitcher's body which appears imposing on the mound.
His arm appears to work well without a great deal of effort and appears to have more velocity in the arm as he develops as a pitcher, having spent a lot of time in football as a quarterback. Cooper should have an outstanding senior year in baseball and should have the ability to develop into an outstanding pitcher at the junior college level.
