5-foot-10, 200-pound right hand hitting OF who ran a 4.00 home to first. At the plate he stands open and uses a long stride to come square. Weight sweeps through the zone on the swing. He stays tall and finishes on his front foot. Hands are lightning quick and swing path is slightly uphill and the bat stays in the zone for an extended amount of time. He shows good bat control to all fields and excellent power to the pull side. Exit velocity was a showcase best 99 MPH. In the field he shows good athletic actions getting to the ball. He does a nice job fielding through the baseball. He has a quick transfer to his throwing side and stays in-line with the target on his delivery. Arm slot is high ¾ at 84 MPH. A player who has some freakish athletic skills who will do well at next level.
4-24-16
A 5-foot-10, 205-pound right hand hitting OF/RHP who ran a 6.90 60. Starts open at the plate with a slight leg kick and long stride to get even. Aggressive weight transfer and quick hands with a slightly uphill swing path created balls with good carry to the gaps. He registered a 95 MPH exit velocity off a tee. In the field he uses his speed to cut balls down. He is max effort on his release and delivers an 83 MPH ball with accuracy. On the mound he gets to balance and rocks back before landing in-line with the plate. He delivers from a high ¾ arm slot and featured an 81 MPH fastball. He finished with a 68-69 MPH curve with 11/5 break and a 74-75 MPH change.
2-28-16
A 5-foot-10, 205-pound right hand hitting outfielder who ran a 7.19 60. Wide stance at the plate with a leg kick and load back. Long arms through the hitting zone with a level swing path. Good lower half produced a 92 MPH exit velocity. In the field he is max effort through the ball and on the throw. He is solid on ground balls and throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Arm velocity was 84 MPH with some accuracy.
8-8-15
5-foot-11, 200 pounds. Bats and throws right. Cox is a strong muscular outfielder. At the plate he utilizes an open stance with a toe tap that generates a bat whip good for 88 mph exit velo off the tee. Could generate more bat speed if he used legs more. Ball jumps off bat. Had a strong arm from the outfield at 88 mph. Cox showed good base running instincts plus speed on the bases. Cox ran a 7.09 60 time. We like his potential and athletic ability. When he learns to use lower half more in his swing he could show some good power potential.
