5-foot-9,160-pound, average athletic frame, the neck is long, shoulders are rounded, back has some width to it, has room to fill out and get stronger. A right-handed pitcher, works from the set position, has above average stuff, baseball explodes out of his at times. The delivery is simple and compact, has good direction to the plate, minimal pull of front side, strong on the back leg, uses the entire body to pitch the baseball. The arm path is clean, works out of a ¾ slot. The fastball touched 86 mph, with action to the arm side, worked it in the lower part of the zone. The breaking ball is an out pitch, clocked as high as 77 mph, at times gets around it and flattens out, but for the most part spin is tight and late, and is a weapon. Changeup is still a work in progress, should develop with such clean arm action, clocked at 72-76 mph, has good arm speed. Times to the plate 1.33-1.59. Still fresh to pitching, look for big things from him, velocity will spike at some point, big prospect for me.
11.1.17
5-foot-9, 155 pounds, wiry and athletic, projectable frame with a strong lower half. Plenty of room to continue developing physically. The shoulders are sloped. Quick-twitch actions and athleticism evident on the mound. A right-handed pitcher with electric stuff. The arm action is clean and works from a ¾ to high ¾ slot. Works with rhythm, purpose, and presence. Pitches from the stretch with a simple, repeatable delivery, hides the ball well throughout. Consistent to the plate, posting times to the plate between 1.33-1.37. The fastball was clocked between 83-87 mph with tons of life. Showed control of the pitch, moving it all over the zone during his workout. Kennedy’s slider was equally impressive, with sharp bite, thrown between 75-78 mph. A true swing-and-miss offering. His changeup comes in between 74-76 mph. The pitch should continue to develop into a show-me changeup to keep opposing handed batters honest. Expect big time production from Kennedy this upcoming season. He should be all over Division I radars, with a plus fastball-slider combination that makes him one of the more promising 2019 arms in New England.
