Quinn Sotero: LHP, (2024) Xavier, CT. 5-foot-10, 175-pound lean athletic frame. Above average projectable on the mound, showed a loose clean arm action and a ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed Tall-and-fall feel type pitcher and shows easy effort. Showed strong balance point and in line downhill shoulders. Lands open with an athletic finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 81-82 mph; had sinking action and arm side command. (Max spin 2089; Avg 1954). Has a 12/6 curveball (68-69) that shows glove side command and slurvey action. (Max spin 1594; Avg 1594). Shows fading swing and miss action and arm side command on his changeup (73-74). His slider (72-73) showed late tight action and glove side control. (Max spin 1683; Avg 1642). Breaking stuff is above average, can put hitters away with it.
5-foot-9, 160-pound, average athletic frame, strength for a 2024, with room for added weight gains. A left-handed hitting two-way player, showed well on both sides of the field. At the plate, wider even feet, hands are loaded and strong, bat has tilt and is in a good hitting position. Slight step in on foot strike, results in more of a pull approach, swing is level, cuts at the end, could stay through it more. The hands work with minimal effort, the exit velocity was clocked at 80 mph, baseball comes off the bat well. From the outfield, approach is under control, clean shuffle, arm working from a 3/4 slot. The arm action is long and loose, baseball comes out well. Off the mound, working from set position, landing slightly closed, front side is inline. The arm works with minimal effort, releasing through 3/4 slot. The fastball was located to both sides down in the zone, clocked at 75 mph. The breaking ball is harder, up to 68 mph, depth, chance to be an out pitch. Good looking athlete, projection off the mound.
