Samuel Formus: LHP, (2023) Stafford, CT. Cedarville University Commit, 6-foot-1, 200-pound projectable athletic frame. Above average and projectable on the mound, showed above average arm speed, also used a consistent loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Up-tempo type pitcher who shows some effort. Showed consistent balance point and in line shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 89-90 mph; shows running action and control arm side around the zone. (Max spin 2422; Avg 2299). Shows feel arm side command and gradual fading action on his changeup (72-73). Throws a sharp slider (81-83) that shows glove side control and plus slurvey action. (Max spin 1688; Avg 1309).
6-foot-1, 175-pound athletic lean frame. Solid in the box, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 77 mph. (69.21 mph bat speed average). (20.86 mph hand speed average). Started in a tall open stance with a smooth small load, then used a short controlled stride. Has average bat speed, short upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Produced loud contact and found some barrels. Opposite field line drive approach. Tall-and-fall up-tempo type pitcher who uses easy effort. Showed strong balance point with in line shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 72-76 mph; has running sinking action and both sides of the plate command. (Max spin 2171;Avg 2063). His changeup (69-70) shows down in the zone command and fading action.
