6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed pitcher who is progressing very nicely. The arm works clean out of a higher than ¾ slot. Pitches out of an athletic lift and coil at the top, deception to the delivery as he hides the ball well. Good amount of crossfire to his feet as he gets down the mound. The glove is tucked and he does a very good job staying on track with the front shoulder. Fastball touched 79 mph with arm side run, command of the fastball is good. The spin pitch was 65 mph, needs more fastball hand speed to it. The changeup spins correctly, sat at 73 mph. Solid prospect as he pitches aggressively and throws strikes.
6/20/17
6-foot-1, 172-pound, long, lengthy, athletic frame, with room to fill out. The shoulders are sloped, back is wide, good, durable pitchers frame. A right-handed pitcher, who has good feel for 3 pitches, pounds the zone, and competes at very high level. The delivery is sound simple, balanced throughout, hands start and stay at the midsection, leg raise is smooth, high and gets to a good gather position. The fastball was located to both sides, throws a 4 seamer to glove side and the 2 seamer to arm side, both pitches were clocked at 78-80 mph. Throws a cutter which is his best pitch, can get both lefties and righties out, clocked at 73-74 mph, seen it higher than that at times. The changeup was clocked in the mid-70’s, has good arm speed and sells it well with his entire body. The tempo is good, works quickly, times to the plate are good at 1.25. The velocity isn't overpowering at the current moment, but with continued throwing and physical maturation it should climb. Good follow, has some pitch ability to him.
3/8/17
6-foot-1, 172-pound, longer, wide, athletic frame. The shoulders are sloped, has plenty of room for future development. One of the better pitchers in the area, kid can flat out throw strikes, pounds the zone, can spin it, adds and subtracts with the best of them. A right-handed pitcher, delivery is simple, hands are quiet, leg raise is high, smooth and has some coil to it at its peak. The separation is on time, direction is inline, squares up on release and floods the zone with tons of strikes. The arm action is clean and easy, longer arm path to it, comes out of a natural ¾ slot. The fastball is located down in the zone, clocked at 79-80 mph, has been better than that and has more in the tank, 2 seamer has life to it. The breaking ball is more slurvey, clocked at 65-67 mph. The best pitch is probably the cut ball, clocked at 76-77 mph, late with more horizontal break to it. The changeup is thrown for strikes as well, down in the zone, comes out of the same slot, with good arm speed, clocked at 73-76 mph. Big time follow, guys that throw strikes win games, this kid can beat you multiple ways.
11/2/16
6-foot, 165-pound, an athletic frame, the shoulders are wide, sloped, the neck is long, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed pitcher, the delivery is simple and repeats it with ease. The hands start mid-chest and stay there throughout. The leg raise is smooth, big and has some coil to it. The separation is clean, connected and balanced throughout the delivery. The arm action is clean, smooth and has some length to it. The fastball was clocked at 80-82 mph, with good action to the arm side, was located in the bottom part of the zone. The changeup was at 71-73 mph, thrown with great arm speed, sold it well, is an above average pitch. The breaking ball is a cutter, clocked at 75-78 mph, small late break to it. Times to the plate were good at 1.38, looked to have good presence and poise on the bump. Good looking arm that throws three pitches for strikes, been groomed very well so far.
8/21/16
Long and lanky right-handed pitching prospect that threw the ball well at the event. The fastball has downward plane to it, touching 79 mph. The spin pitch is a breaking ball with good shape to it, 69-70 mph. With additional fastball hand speed on the spin pitch, it could be an out pitch at the next level. The changeup is a work in progress, sitting at 71-72 with minimal action on it. The ball comes at the hitter out of a ¾ arm slot, as the arm works. The delivery consists of an athletic lift, good posture to the plate and a clean arm swing. Few things I would like to see him improve at, staying in his delivery and not trying to do too much, and less pull of the glove side as the ball approaches the hitter. 1.33 to the plate in the stretch. Good follow on the mound, show make a jump in the next year.
