At the plate Ortiz’s hands are set high, with an aggressive approach. Ortiz uses his lower half well and has quick hands through the zone. He will be interesting to follow going forward with his already present feel for the game behind the plate as well as a strong arm and quick hands, Ortiz should be an above average defensive catcher.

12/7/15 SF Elite Tryout-Very young, short stocky body. High energy kid with quick release behind the dish. Has enough arm strength now but will have more with physical maturity. Short swing with some quickness in hands. Bat will improve with strength. Catch and throw guy.
