Jacob Holley, West Orange High (FL), 2028
Positional Profile: RHP/RHP
Body: 6-3, 210-pounds. Physical, durable frame with a slightly high-waisted build. Strong lower half with thick legs that provide a sturdy foundation. Possesses the type of body that is built to handle innings.
Delivery: Utilizes his long levers effectively down the mound. Operation is athletic and creates angle, though there is some effort throughout the delivery. Competes in the strike zone and showed the ability to land pitches despite the moving parts.
Arm Action: RH. Long, aggressive, whippy arm action that generates quality arm speed. Creates considerable momentum through release and allows the stuff to play. Arm works with intent and produces lively movement characteristics. Physical right-hander with a lively fastball and a pair of usable breaking balls. The movement profile on the fastball stands out, and both breakers showed the characteristics necessary to play off it effectively. Intriguing arm whose combination of physicality, arm speed, and pitch mix warrants continued follow.
FB: T89, 86-88 mph. Fastball was the standout offering. Showed heavy life with both sink and arm-side run, making it a difficult pitch to square up. Consistently played with movement through the zone and served as the foundation of the arsenal. T2392, 2299 average rpm.
CB: Curveball provided another quality breaking-ball look. Showed feel for the offering and gave hitters a different shape than the slider. Rounded out the arsenal and added depth to the overall pitch mix.
SL: 77-79 mph. Slider complemented the fastball well. Showed distinct shape and enough separation to keep hitters from sitting on the heater. Thrown with conviction and played effectively off the fastball's movement profile. T2248, 2044 average rpm.
CH: 78-78 mph. T1093, 1093 average rpm.
