Uncommitted. The Junior Future Game alum had a strong game 2 in the first round of the playoffs vs a strong Lovett team. Blalock produced hard contact multiple times with a 2 RBI double off the CF wall late in the game. The long framed RHH gets his barrel through the zone well staying short/compact to the ball. Blalock looks to continue to grow and have a strong summer.
Positional Profile: RHP/3B Potential.
Body: 6-1, 165-pounds. Large frame, coat hanger shoulders, long levers.
Delivery: Upright delivery with good rhythm between hands and lift knee. Short strider who creates considerable downhill trajectory because of it. With his patience over the rubber in stride, I would like to see him lengthen that stride to create more separation and extension.
Arm Action: RH. clean, one piece arm action that builds considerable momentum from start to finish (H3/4 Slot).
FB: T78.1, 75-78 mph. Steep plane, late run. T2280, 2022 average rpm.
CB: 62-64 mph. Sharp, tight action, downward tilt. T2100, 2023 average rpm.
CH: 68-69 mph. Fade. T1705, 1478 average rpm.
Positional Profile: RHP/3B Potential.
Body: 6-1, 165-pounds. Large frame, coat hanger shoulders, long levers.
Hits: RHH. Unique crouched setup with barrel angled flat, nice active rhythm in hands off back shoulder near hitting slot. Smooth leg kick, stacks backside pretty well in stride. Sweeping path with loft when he gets it right. Very good feel for inside out swing, needs to develop front arm shrink to turn barrel in tight space so he can't be beat inside. Has all the athleticism to do it.
Power: 84 max exit velocity, averaged 64.4 MPH. 233' max distance. Backspin barrels to right center.
Arm: RH. INF-79 mph.Fluid, one piece arm action from H3/4 slot.
Defense: Footwork is solid for length and age, sure hands. Smooth exchange.
Run: 7.55 runner in the 60.

This is an exceptional athlete who oozes projection in a lengthy, 6’2 165 frame. While he didn’t have his best day at the plate, he was very impressive on the mound. Blalock has a very clean, one piece arm action that builds considerable momentum from start to finish. The 76-79 FB jumps out of his hand from a H3/4 slot on an extremely steep plane and late run. The pitch averaged 19 IVB and had one of the higher release heights in the event. His 62-65 CB was very sharp for its velocity, to the point where I expected it to be in the 65-68 range. It has tight action and considerable downward tilt
