Gordon State Commit. Despite a losing effort in G1, Hicks was sure to make an impact early on. B1 he got down early in the count but fought and roped a PS 1B into the OF to keep the inning going. His next AB was where he got his A swing off and connected for a loud 2B to the wall that brought in the Hawks first run of the game. Hicks has a stout, strong base beneath him that work heavily in his favor as the power is clear in the stroke. The swing explodes down to the ball and up through contact, producing good back spin while avoiding pop ups. Game 2 was more great results from the corner infielder as they ran away with it late. A hard hit milti-RBI 1B and a solid poke UTM were two more 1Bs he picked up in the contest. This high energy player is a spark plug that lives on the barrel with great control in the 3-hole. Hicks is a must if Hillgrove looks to take games 2 and 3 and advance to the sweet 16.
