Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 200-pounds. Angelakos, one of the top remaining uncommitted arms left in the ‘24 class. He had a strong start Sunday on day two of the 2023 Georgia State Games. He has a long and explosive stride down the mound. He ran a sinking fastball up to 90 mph while sitting at 88-89. His fastball was electric with late sinking action. Then flips in a slider 75-77, his slider is a great pitch coming off of the fastball. Has great break, in which he can throw for a strike and get hitters to chase out of the zone. Makes it even harder than it already is on the hitters while keeping the same arm slot with both pitches. Angelakos is going to be a huge pickup for someone.
Uncommitted. 6-foot-3 200-pounds. Angelakos has been a staple name the last few years. This was the first time I was able to get eyes on him. When I saw the Eagles early in the year he was still playing basketball. The physical size and strength that Angelakos has added is beyond impressive. He is super athletic, and could play anywhere on the field. A natural shortstop, continues to impress with the actions in the field. The arm has always worked, but now it is super strong, and gives him even more range in the infield. He is beginning to find his groove at the plate, and the swing looks as smooth as ever. The timing is there, and he connects consistently. Angelakos will be one of the biggest uncommitted ‘24 names of the summer, and I will be anxious to see where he lands. Will surely be an instant impact into any program.
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 178-pound right-handed hitting shortstop, long, lanky frame, lean strength throughout, lots of room to fill out. Defensively has a soft glove and a quick first step, quick hands, more than enough arm strength to stick on the left-side at the next level. Swing works short to the zone, extension through, gets uphill as he looks to elevate and drive the ball, big power potential.
5-foot-8, 130-pound, right handed hitting infielder and pitcher. Offensively, tall open setup, smooth load with rhythm. Flashed bat speed, level barrel path with extension through the ball, gap-gap approach. Exit velocity of 70 mph off the tee. Defensively, clean exchange, ¾ slot with short arm action, accuracy on throws, topped at 68 mph across the infield. Ran 5.22 from home to first. On the mound, full windup, high ¾ slot, above average arm speed for age, short arm action, easy effort throughout. Level shoulders, linear direction towards home, square landing and athletic finish. Fastball sat between 65-66 touching 68 mph. Curveball had 11/5 shape, gradual late action, ranging between 50-53 mph. Changeup had slight fade, between 57-58 mph.
